How to Join BGRS  Third Party Service Providers

I get countless emails everyday from Real Estate agents who want to be placed on the Brookfield List of Service Providers.  To help these individuals I am supplying their website link to apply.

During your move, you might need to use the services of an appraiser, home inspector, lawyer, notary, realtor/broker®, or rental search agent. Each of these professionals is considered a TPSP. Each TPSP you select must be at arm’s length (meaning the transaction is between non-related individuals) in order for the services provided to be eligible for reimbursement.

Through your move profile, you will have access to our TPSP Directory: a list of all TPSPs which have agreed to the ceiling rates and service delivery standards of the CAF contract. Familiarize yourself with the ceiling rate for each TPSP so you can clearly communicate this to them when you engage them for their services.

You can select any TPSP from this Directory. If you select a non-participating TPSP, you’ll be responsible for covering any expenses that exceed the set ceiling rates.

Whether you select a participating or non-participating TPSP, it is your responsibility to ensure that your TPSP is aware that you are a relocating CAF member and, therefore, their services and fees should align with the Relocation Directive and CAF contract. TPSPs not in our Directory can join at any time by completing the TPSP registration online.

BGRS Tips for Third Party Service Providers

  • Tip #1 – Get recommendations. Friends, family, and co-workers are often a good source for recommendations. Get as many details as possible about their experience with their TPSP. To narrow your search, consider everyone’s advice.
  • Tip #2 – Evaluate their experience. Regardless of what kind of TPSP you are looking for, their experience in dealing with different situations can make the difference in keeping your experience as straightforward as possible.
  • Tip #3 – Look for a good fit. Once you’ve narrowed your search to qualified professionals, choose someone you like. You could be spending a lot of time communicating with your TPSP, so it should be someone you feel compatible and comfortable with.
  • Tip #4 – Understand payment provisions: how and when it must occur.
    • When BGRS reimburses a participating TPSP (meaning they have agreed to the terms and conditions of the BGRS TPSP directory, and will be paid directly by BGRS for services provided) you must certify that the services have been rendered; failure to provide this certification may result in the recovery of funds.
    • In the event that you select a non-participating TPSP (meaning the TPSP is not part of the BGRS TPSP Directory – the certification form is not required) You will be responsible to pay the non-participating TPSP, and submit a claim through the Member Secure Website for the personally incurred expense.
    • TPSPs might request payment through a different supplier (your realtor/broker® will likely request payment through a lawyer, for example). Knowing your TPSP’s process and expectations will ensure the transaction is as smooth as possible.
  • Tip #5 – Remember that not all service providers are TPSPs. During your move, you might seek the services of other types of service providers; for example, a home cleaner. The TPSP Directory is an all-inclusive list so you will need to search out these service providers on your own. Review the Relocation Directive for reimbursement information prior to incurring this type of expense.

We expect you have more questions. You can review each TPSP’s agreement and their fees in the Agreement section of Your Move Profile. Your Knowledge Centre on Your Move Profile is an invaluable tool for other relocation information and guidance: other VIPs, fact sheets, and FAQs. Take the time to review all the information available and familiarize yourself with what you’re eligible for.
