Ottawa, the capital of Canada, is a city of approximately 1,000,000 people and stretches east, west and south of the downtown core (if you go north, you end up in Quebec!).
It is, for the most part, a public service city with the Federal Government being the largest employer though there is also a good-sized high tech component here. Many jobs, especially public sector jobs, require fluency in both English and French and the school boards offer several varieties of French immersion (early, middle and late).
Ottawa is a beautiful city with rivers, canals and parks, bicycle paths, ski hills within a 30 minute drive and lots of great restaurants, museums, and cultural offerings.

Brookfield Global Relocation Services is the civilian contractor responsible for administering DND moves under CF IRP. Once a move has been authorized by DRBM (usually within 3 days of receipt of the posting instruction), you need to register with Brookfield GRS in order to book an initial appointment to see a consultant in order to determine your status and to find out further information regarding your relocation.
